K9 Advantix

K9 Advantix claims that it kills more parasites than Frontline Plus.

K9 Advantix says that it can often get rid of ticks before they attach to your dog.

It kills fleas already on your dog within just 12 hours after you apply the product to your dog, and it stops flea eggs and their offspring from developing.

K9 Advantix continues to work even if you give your dog a bath or he goes swimming.

K9 Advantix recommends using a hypoallergenic shampoo if you bathe your dog when using the product.

Frontline Plus

Frontline Plus says that it kills 100 percent of fleas on your dog within 12 hours of putting the product on your dog; and it kills all ticks on your dog within 48 hours.

Frontline Plus also kills flea eggs and larvae so it stops all stages of flea development.

Frontline does not come off when your dog goes swimming, or gets a bath, or when he’s out in the sun.

Fleas do not have to bite your dog for Frontline to work.

Side Effects

Side effects are possible with both products, although they are relatively rare compared with the large numbers of the products sold.  Most side effects reported are minor and pass quickly.

Conclusion

Both K9 Advantix II and Frontline Plus are very good products and they are very similar in how they work on your pet.  Both products are monthly, though Frontline Plus kills fleas longer.  Both products are topical, spot-on applications.  Both products kill basically the same parasites, though K9 Advantix II repels and kills mosquitoes and Frontline Plus doesn’t.  Both products interfere with the flea’s life cycle and stop fleas from hatching out in your home. Although the two products use different active ingredients, they operate in a similar manner and both are very fast acting.  Most side effects are minor or pass quickly.  Either product will do a good job of killing fleas and ticks on your dog.
